Draft — not yet in force. This page describes how refunds work in the O4QR platform today. It has not yet been reviewed, and items marked to be confirmed are still being decided. For the terms that apply to a purchase you have made, please contact us.
Online orders are sold by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for them: Paddle is the seller, issues your invoice, collects any applicable sales tax, and handles payment-related enquiries and refunds on our behalf.
Printed security labels are quoted and invoiced directly by Optical Technologies Limited and are not covered by this page — see section 8.
You can cancel a plan yourself, without asking us, from Orders or Billing in your account:
Cancelling ends the plan straight away. The codes and record units it included that you have not used are taken back; ones you have already used are not. Your account then continues exactly as it would at the end of a term: a plan you have already booked starts, otherwise the account becomes read-only — existing codes keep resolving and your data stays visible, but nothing new can be created.
Outside the cancellation window, ask from the order in your account (Orders → Request refund). We look at each request and reply in your account; the most we can refund is worked out as follows:
| What you bought | The most we refund |
|---|---|
| Anything paid for but not delivered | All of it. |
| A plan, after its first 14 days | The value of the days left in its term. The plan then ends and its unused codes and record units are taken back. |
| Code or record packs, and quantities of units | The share you have not used. The units refunded are removed from your balance at the same time. |
| Add-ons and modules bought for a term | The value of the time left in the term. |
| Extra scans for a month, wallet credit | Not refundable — scans already served cannot be un-served, and credit may already have been spent. Where something went wrong on our side, we may add a goodwill credit to your wallet instead. |
We may refund less than this where a purchase is withdrawn in full: for example, a pack can be cancelled entirely with a cancellation fee deducted. When we do, the reply tells you how many units are removed and what fee was kept. to be confirmed (the size of any cancellation fee).
Because Paddle is the seller of record for online orders, you can also contact Paddle about a payment, using the link in the receipt Paddle emailed you. A refund Paddle grants is reflected in your account in the same way as one of ours — the plan or units it paid for are ended or removed accordingly.
The O4QR platform is sold mainly to businesses. If you are buying as a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services within 14 days. The cancellation window in section 2 is designed to give at least that. Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights.
Labels are made to order and are quoted and invoiced directly by Optical Technologies Limited. to be confirmed Cancellation once origination or tooling has begun, and the inspection and rejection window on delivery. Until then, please contact us about a label order.
