Compliance expands what you must publish. New fields go into the record behind the code, not onto a new label.

The owner is on it
The same code starts a registration or warranty step for whoever holds the item now.
The identity never changes.
A code is one unit, permanently. That is what makes its scan history evidence.
The action never changes.
An authentication code stays an authentication code; it cannot quietly become a
redirect.
The content is yours to change.
